August is an exciting month for entertainment at Lake Effect. With live music acts playing at our establishment 7 days a week, we’re one of the premier hangout spots in Downtown SLC. Here are some musical acts we’re excited to host this coming month!
On August 10th, we’re hosting Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ernie Halter. He has performed with a variety of our generation’s biggest artists, including Neil Young, Jason Mraz, Sara Bareilles, Lady Antebellum, and even Katy Perry, among many others. Halter’s sound is heavily influenced by soulful artists like Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, and the Beatles.
Later in the evening, we’ll be hosting AM Bump, which is a local Salt Lake soul jazz group. AM Bump is one of those old school jazz trio bands, with Kenji Aihara on the guitar, Jeremy Abernathy on the organ, and Chris Snarr on the drums.
On August 16th, we’ve got Portland-based pop duo Stereo RV performing on our main stage. Stereo RV is made up of Myra Gleason, the lead singer, as well as her husband, Gabe Gleason, who provides top-notch beatboxing skills that are able to mimic the sound of a full drum kit. Stereo RV released their first album, Break Free, this year!
Everyone knows Utah’s favorite crooner: Ryan Innes, the classically trained soul singer who graduated from BYU. We’re happy to announce that we’re hosting Ryan Innes on August 25th, on our main stage. Enjoy gravelly versions of classic songs, performed in the vein of soul singers like Ray Charles and Amos Lee. If you aren’t able to make it on the 25th, we’re also hosting Ryan again on August 29th.
Later in the evening, local cover band supergroup Marmalade Chill takes the stage. Made up of musicians from around Utah, Marmalade chill performs a variety of mashup medleys of classic 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s music, as well as some modern hits.
Stop by to enjoy some great food, drink some signature cocktails, and jam out to some tunes! We hope to see you there!
